Description
The historical Folklore Museum of Limni began its operation in the summer of 1993, after the generous donation to the Municipality of the late Limniotissa Aikaterinis Evaggelinou-Flokos (son of a large and powerful naval family), of her neoclassical mansion. This mansion, built around 1880, was donated for the sole purpose of creating a Museum on the Lake.
Immediately upon accepting the donation, the then Municipality of Limni institutionally included the Museum in the Spiritual Center and established a Museum Functionality Committee made up of cultural individuals, with the aim of collecting objects of historical and folkloric interest, equipping and operating the Museum.
