The amazing idea to create a collection of stuffed animals was the Board of Directors of the year 1956. The current Board of Directors. continued the effort as deservedly continued by the previous Boards of Directors. Now, under the presidency of Mr. Ioannis Papakonstantinou, it is already operating. The Hunting Association of Istiaia, having collected a large collection of embalmed species (217 species of birds and a considerable number of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish, rocks, minerals, shells, shells, etc.), began the creation of its facilities Museum following the correct specifications and for future requirements. It holds one of the first positions among similar museums in Greece, in terms of the number and rarity of the exhibits. 212 embalmed animals and more species of birds arouse the interest of the visitor. This museum, founded in 1995, is located next to the city's football stadium, near the Xiria river.

Finally, the Museum of Natural History of Istiaia today is installed in a privately owned building of 630 sq.m., and is considered a Scientific Institution in its own right, since it was created only for scientific purposes.
